SponsorshipCIEEDAC is a non-profit organisation funded through sponsorship and through agreements made with Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). Two NRCan programs, the National Energy Use Database (NEUD) initiative and the Canadian Industry Program for Energy Conservation, presently provide 65% of the Centre’s funds. CIEEDAC is also sponsored by other federal departments, provincial government agencies and various industry associations and energy supply utilities.
Contributions from a wide variety of sources are important so that CIEEDAC can continue as an accepted “third party”, unbiased institution striving to provide useful, reliable and consistent data on industry-related energy information. Because a number of Data Centres are supported by NRCan’s National Energy Use Database initiative, different approaches to sponsorship exist. For example, the funds supplied by a sponsor may support more than one Centre. Generally, however, most sponsors provide funds directly to CIEEDAC through Simon Fraser University. The benefits of sponsorship include:
Cost of Services Each university has unique regulations and protocol regarding cost of services. Most services are available to sponsors and non-sponsors like; sponsors may receive preferential treatment as part of the sponsorship arrangement made with the centre(s). Each centre director can be contacted with regard to the costs of such services.
If you are interested in becoming a CIEEDAC sponsor, please contact CIEEDAC’s Executive Director, Dr. John Nyboer at (778) 782-3068 or by e-mail at jnyboer@sfu.ca. Thank you for your interest in CIEEDAC.
